The 30 second instrumental part was amazing. I wish it lasted a little longer though, because Hedgezero really rocked in this song. Track 2, Release Me, has a hint of urbandub and chicosci, but as the song progresses, Hedgezero's distinct mark kicks in. The spoken part in this track (care of the drummer Mike) reminded me of optimus prime/MJ on thriller. It's kind of funny and freaky at the same time (which is interesting, really) but I think that the song could do without it. The keyboards on the third track, Ode, was a welcome addition. The effect it made on the song was just perfect. Track 4, Distant Voices, is infectious. It was positively dragging -- in the sense that the emotions were well conveyed by the interplay of AJ's voice and the music. The song had its "silent" points and deep tight ones at the right moments.
